About Jacob’s Foundation

Jacob’s Musical Legacy Foundation is a nonprofit organization seeking to provide opportunities in music education for student’s age elementary through high school.

The National Association for Music Education (NAfME) reports that music education is shown to support emotional and intellectual development, build strong self-esteem, and improve work ethic and team building skills. It is our hope that through the gift of music, we can offer young people in Oldham County, KY and surrounding communities opportunities for growth and enrichment that will enable them to become successful, well-rounded citizens.

Music touches our lives in so many ways. When was the last time you went a day without it? Music helps us celebrate our accomplishments; motivates us to keep moving through difficult tasks; and enhances the soundtrack of our lives. Music comforts our souls in times of grief and encourages our hearts to sing and give praises to our Lord.

Jacob was a kind and talented young man whose time on earth was far too short. He used his love for music to develop wonderful relationships with his peers and adults alike. Jacob’s music was a gift that he shared with others, although he was never ashamed to put out his tip jar.

Our goal for this foundation is to keep Jacob’s music legacy alive by sharing his gift with others. Will you help us keep the music playing? Click below to make a donation.

The Gift of Organ Donation

Jacob sustained a traumatic brain injury in an auto accident on April 2, 2016.  The next day we learned that Jacob would not be coming home with us. Organ donation was not even a question, we all agreed that it was the right thing to do and felt that it would be something that Jacob would have wanted. We immediately asked if Jacob would be a candidate.

It was April 5th 2016 when a team of medical professionals joint together to recover Jacob’s organs for transplant.

Through our tragedy and Jacob’s gift, three families were given a new hope for life and a reprieve from the agony and grief of losing a loved one. This hope, and the fact that a part of Jacob lives on in others, gives us peace and comfort.
